Hokkaido Traditional Arts and Crafts Village is located to the west of the city, as it is on a top of a hill you can see a view of the Asahikawa town. The village is composed of three museums, Snow Crystals Museum, Fabric Museum and Yukara Textiles Museum.
Yukara textiles originated in Asahikawa by Aya KIUCHI. She created natural beauties of the four seasons of Hokkaido by hand-woven. These design motifs are imagined from the nature as Lake Masyu, Wild roses, and Floating ice, Snow Crystals. |
