Fugoppe Cavern Museum Fugoppe Cavern is situated in Yoichi City, and located 20-kirometer west from Otaru City faced the Japanese Sea. The cave and engrave figures on it was come across in 1950. The sculpture thought those 2000-1600 years ago in the Jomon era.
Over 200 figures are human figure has wing or hone, ship, animals and so on. There is similar figures Temiya cavern, Siberia, North America. They are closed natural faith like a shaman in animism. They said that this cavern used to be the place of ritual. |

Nishizakiyama Stones Circle Nishizakiyama Stones Circle is located 5-minutes ride by car from Fugoppe Cavern, and more 10-minutes we can reach Oshoro Stones Circle. Both sites are very close. There is another stone circle near here, so this area is center on stone circle. Over 100 large and small stones are line to the circle. From the site we can get a beautiful view of Japanese Sea. |
Oshoro Stones Circle located west side of Otaru City. A large oval circle of small rocks surrounds big upright rocks on the leveled shope at the foot of a mountain. It is considered ruins of a mass graveyard of some 3500years ago.

Maybe they are shamans who can mediator between human and nature All the things of nature has spiritual live, we Japanese is descended from the same animism spirit.
