Luang Pabang is one of the oldest cities in Laos. In 1353, Fa Ngum founded Kingdom of Lan Xang by Khmer-support. Luang Pabang was the capital city till capital moved to Vientiane in 1520. There are many historical and cultural sites retained. In 1995, the city added to the "World Heritage" list.
"Watermelon" Stupa reflected in a puddle. It had been raining in 7 days ! and rebuilt by concrete in 1896 to 1898

The museum was built in 1904 as for royal palace and residence for royal family. On 31 Mar.1976, after 1975 Revolution, the palace was opened as museum to the public.

Phu Si : named after a fairy tale that, "Once two elves came to make the town under divine guidance." Luang Pabang is surrounded by mountains on three sides. View of the town from here is so magnificent ! Down the path on battery side, you'll reach to Wat Tham Phu Si |
Luang Prabang has many other attractive sites around the town. Above all I recommend you to go Pak Ou Caves and Kuang Si Falls. Pak Ou Caves located 25km by boat from the town.
