Mandalay is Myanmar's second city located roughly center of the country and the last capital of Myanmar. Ayeyarwaddy River run the west Mandalay Hill guard the north the city was provided nucleus for the Palace.

Unfortunately Royal Palace was burnt out during World War 䱗, only walls nearly 3km on a side and moat remained. After War this area belong to nation's armed forces. Later some building was rebuilt, now day we can see some foundation and model rooms.

Only east gate open for tourists you pay 5US$ for entrance in the Palace at the gate.

Mandalay Hill

Huge white lion

236m heights Mandalay hill lie northeast of the Palace like protected Mandalay city. Huge two white lion guard approach of the Hill.

Entrance fee the hill is 3US$, of course you can pay it by 3FEC

After half-hour's climb, Royal Palace, countless pagodas, town view and great river Ayeyarwady, magnificent scenery opened out before us.

I recommend you to climb hill toward evening. Especially after sunset view is beautiful. I'm sure you might have a fantastic time at top of the hill.

Marionettes Theater
When I happened to pass small theater I dropped at the theater attracted exotic music. This is Marionettes Theater. Once royal capital placed Mandalay was traditional arts and entertainments remains.
